Up at daybreak or before (depending on the tide) with coffee and a home-made snack before setting out for the first catch of the day. Mid-morning (because you are successfully fishing so close to camp) you can almost smell a hearty breakfast being prepared! Time to eat, rest, snorkel, kayak, or work on your gear before spending the rest of the day attempting to catch the fish of your choice. Upon returning to camp that evening and after a successful day of fishing, you take a relaxing shower before gathering with the other guests for cocktails and a delicious meal consisting of the day’s catch, perfectly prepared. After dinner you are ready for a good night’s sleep on your comfortable bed dreaming of the next day’s adventure! Imagine all of this where you are away from the impersonal and over-crowded resorts.
Charlie Leslie's Tarpon Caye Lodge is a 30 minute boat cruise 15 miles east from "Mother Nature's Best Kept Secret", the Placencia Peninsula. Our specialty is fishing the tides for the Elusive Permit, the Big Tarpon and/or the Feisty Bonefish on the fly. Our passion and NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IS TO HUNT AND CATCH FISH and we want our clients to be able to take full advantage of that experience. Tarpon Caye Lodge is responsible for many fly fishermen and women catching their first permit, tarpon and/or bonefish on the fly. This area, with its seemingly never ending supply of fish of all kinds, also holds excellent opportunities for bait casters, spin casters and conventional fishing in general.
We also offer fishing packages from the Lodge as well as Day Fishing Tours from the mainland and our Relaxation Package is specifically offered to those who wish to simply spend a few days on a private island in the Caribbean.
