Charlie Leslie's Tarpon Caye is a private island retreat. We create long term relationships with all our clients by providing the best quality, most exciting, entertaining and successful fishing experiences in the area with great accommodations and services in the most relaxing environment.

We cater to all levels of fishing experience as well as to those customers who are looking for peace and relaxation only. Hard-core fly fishing, however, is our specialty.

BRIEF HISTORY:

Tarpon Caye Lodge is a family oriented fishing establishment operating with over 50 years knowledge. With this background we are able to make our guests' Belize fishing experience second to none. It is an environment wherein we make all our guests feel they are a part of our family.

Charlie Leslie has been an integral part of pioneering and popularizing the Belizean sport and fly fishing industry. During the mid-1980's to the mid-1990's Charlie operated KINGFISHER SPORT FISHING OPERATION, the first successful, professional Belize fly fishing business in Placencia Village. Because of the great number of repeat and new clients requesting overnight stays at their fishing grounds, Charlie created his own fishing camp on Tarpon Caye where one of the largest Tarpon populations in the Caribbean reside in it's lagoon. Tarpon Caye is located on the Barrier Reef in the middle of Victoria Channel, the "Permit Capital" of the world.

In 1997 Charlie developed nearly 2 acres of his 10 acre private island for the building of his Fishing Lodge. Since then the property has been further developed to include landscaping, cabins, clubhouse, kitchen, guide quarters, water and electrical systems ( a 110 and solar 12 volt system) for a fully self-sustained operation.

Every year Charlie and his family have improved the island's accommodations, amenities and services to make Tarpon Caye Lodge the enjoyable, tuned-in with nature, down to earth, well equipped, fun and professional fishing experience that it is today.
